Pride of Scotland Tartan Martingale Collar

Our Pride of Scotland Tartan martingale collar features a plaid that reflects the ‘pride’ that lies at the heart of the Scottish nation. It was intentionally designed to represent the whole of the country, not one particular area or clan. Consequently, we think it is an ideal choice for hounds who have a close bond with Scotland.

This plaid is predominately a large blue block of colour that features purple, green white and black threads woven throughout creating a rich blend. The blue and white represent the Scottish flag with green and purple being symbolic of the hills and glens of Scotland’s landscape.

To add a touch of luxury and softness, you can choose to line the collar with either fuchsia or purple Swiss velvet. Either option will really compliment the depth of colour in the Pride of Scotland plaid. To finish your collar, you can either opt for solid brass or silver nickel-plated hardware. Solid brass gives a traditional countryside feel whereas silver-plated nickel has a more urban, contemporary look.

Martingale collars have a unique design that keeps your dog from escaping or backing out of their collar, no matter how hard they pull. The collar sits comfortably loose around your dog’s neck and will tighten, exerting gentle pressure when your dog starts to pull. It doesn’t hurt and is a safe, effective way to manage dogs that slip collars easily. Martingales are a perfect choice when walking or training dogs. They can also help manage shy or timed personalities who may buck their collar.

Caring for your tartan collar (and dress lead)

Do not allow your collar to become too dirty. Spot clean or gentle hand wash, allow to air dry on a flat surface. Remember out tartan products are made from 100% wool and should be washed carefully.
