Martingale collars have a unique design that keeps your dog from escaping or backing out of their collar. Your Lumberjack Martingale Collar will sit loosely around your dog’s neck. If and when they pull, the martingale loop will tighten, exerting gentle pressure around their neck. This action doesn’t hurt, meaning our martingale collars are a safe and effective way to manage a dog that slips their collar easily. Essentially, martingales are perfect for walking or training dogs and can be especially helpful when caring for shy or timed hounds (whose first instincts are to buck their collar when nervous).

A buckle collar is a standard style for regular breeds whose heads are as large, or larger than their necks and where a dog is unable to slip its collar. These collars feature a quick-release fastening which makes it easy to remove and the metal buckle makes it look very stylish.

We line all Doggy Boho house collars with Swiss velvet for a luxury feel to relax in around the home. We are definitely not fans of using material that causes chafing in our collars. It is important to remind you that our house collars are not always suitable walking collars for dogs with long delicate necks such as sighthounds as they can easily slip them. The martingale version of this collar is a much better option for stepping out and offers you control and peace of mind when out walking.

This collar is available in a 2″ width only and in six sizes; Extra-Small, Small, Small-Medium, Medium, Large and Extra-Large.

Caring for your ribbon collar

The brushed cotton fabric is reasonably durable, but we recommend placing it in a linen bag and machine washing using a delicate cycle. Your collar can also be spot cleaned and hand-washed. However, for best results, do not allow your collar to become too soiled. Do not tumble dry but allow it to air dry naturally which is better for the collar and the environment.
